Emotional Reasons Why You Can't Achieve Your Goal Weight

The best way to understand an addictive craving is to first recognize it is not about the food. Food like alcohol and drugs can be used to tranquilize negative emotions that do not want to be felt. It can be a reaction to emotions being triggered at the unconscious level and also overload.

A very common occurrence that will present itself in an EFT session is when you start to tap for a food craving you will have certain feelings around the topic but also a memory of a person, place and event that the craving reminds you of. When we are doing the tapping sequences, we pay special attention to these usually negative thoughts or images that come up.

These memories cause an energetic block and unless we correct these they are not going to allow you to progress forward. This is usually the major challenge for people and one of the primary reasons as to why they have been able to successfully implement their goal in the past. Unless you directly address this issue by some means, it invariably will self-sabotage your efforts to achieve your weight loss goal.

With cravings you eat to relieve stress, not to build energy. Try to identify the triggers to addictive foods. Pinpoint Cause and Effect.

Fortunately the solution is quite straightforward with EFT, the triggers, the self-critical thoughts, images or feelings that come up are quickly and elegantly handled while tapping on your acupuncture meridians.

When doing this persistently, eventually your system will improve.

An example of this was a client I worked with who had a weight issue and a craving for chocolate and could not give it up. During the session it was revealed that when she was little her mother had no time for her and so instead of getting the love and nurturing she needed she would be given chocolate. Specific memories and feelings poured forth including much sadness. When the all of the associated memories and feelings had been tapped on and therefore neutralized the craving for the chocolate went away. She did not have to give it up it just didn’t occur to her to reach for it obsessively any more!

Another client I had who couldn’t loose weight found out it was because of a hidden reason. During the session she realized that if she lost the weight she would then be attractive to the opposite sex. This was a definite no go zone due to a traumatic encounter at a young age and so it wasn’t safe to lose the weight.

With EFT we gently recondition the unconscious mind and the body to align you with your goals so you feel safe and know it’s possible to achieve them. When you know this on every level, mind and body work together to move you forward to your goals.

Stressful events held at the unconscious level due to early events predispose the person to continually be in flight or flight. This in turn has the effect of consistently producing cortisol, adrenaline and other stress hormones. In woman this has the effect of it being almost impossible to drop weight even on a healthy food programme
